The field is computed from the Biot–Savart law for each current loop. In Arrows mode, colour and length show the field strength (red = strong). In Field lines mode, the traced lines follow the field direction. Switch to Solenoid and raise the turns to see the field become uniform inside the coil and fringe out at the ends. The current slider scales the field strength.
